The Last Ones

Villa Albertine Miami and the Consulate General of France in Miami, with the generous support of Marc and Laetitia Ménasé, will be hosting a special evening in honor of the last survivors of the Holocaust with the screening of The Last Ones, by filmmaker Leslie Gelrubin Benitah. Please join us for a special screening of The Last Ones of Auschwitz, followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Dr Leslie Benitah.

The Last Ones is a global initiative dedicated to preserving and sharing testimonies of Holocaust survivors. Through filmed interviews, educational programs, books, and digital storytelling, the organization ensures that these accounts remain accessible to future generations.
Ten years in the making, The Last Ones of Auschwitz grew out of the acclaimed documentary series The Last Ones. The project began with a simple yet urgent premise: to visit survivors in the familiarity of their homes — across France, Europe, the United States, and beyond — and allow them to speak freely. Away from formal settings, often over a slice of cheesecake or a cup of tea, these witnesses share their stories with remarkable candor.
Unlike traditional historical accounts, this work goes beyond the arrest, deportation, and camps to explore what came after the nightmare. Survivors recount the disbelief and indifference they met upon returning home, the long process of rebuilding their lives, and the quiet struggles of love, parenthood, and sleepless nights haunted by memory.
The project was initiated in France by Sophie Nahum, and later developed in the United States by Leslie Benitah.

Where do we park? arrow down

The municipal parking lot at 73rd Street and Collins Avenue is across the street from the Bandshell. Please note it is no longer free - it is $2/hour! When it is full, look for street parking.

What if it rains? arrow down

The venue is an open air facility, covered by our new canopy. Shows are scheduled rain or shine.

Can we bring a picnic? arrow down

No outside food or drink inside the Bandshell, please. We have a fully-stocked bar, and we usually feature wonderful food vendors inside the venue. We also have a water refill station.
