Miami Beach Bandshell Son Del Mundo – Miami Beach Bandshell

Son Del Mundo

Son Cubano was officially inscribed in 2025 by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Beloved for its vitality and global influence, the genre is recognized as a fundamental element of Cuban national identity. On May 8th — "El Dia del Son Cubano" (Cuban Son Day) — the Miami Beach Bandshell will come alive with an international musical celebration hosted by Cortadito. Special guests joining the show include Grammy-nominated Cuban singer Aymee Nuviola; Roberto Torres, legendary singer of the classic song Caballo Viejo; and up-and-coming Sonero, Ronkalunga. The event will also celebrate other musical genres that reflect the global impact of Son Cubano, including tributes to African Congolese Rhumba pioneers Le Grand Kallé and Franco Luambo by Toto Omana, and Haitian Compa legends Trio Selecte and Coupé Cloué by Sanba Zao. In addition, there will be a Son Cubano dance instruction class before the show, taught by Barbaro Ramos from the Muñequitos de Mantazas.
