The Navikaran Quartet is an Indian Fusion ensemble led by tabla master Rajesh Bhandari. Navikaran means “renovation, renewal, or rejuvenation,” reflecting their goal of creating a fresh, innovative sound in Indian music. The quartet’s members include Pratyush Goberdhan (Violin/Sarangi), Kanada Narahari (Sitar/Surbahar), and Keshav Nelavai (Mridangam), along with Bhandari (Tabla), with original music that also incorporates electronic effects and synthesizers into the classical Indian form.
