Sonora Tukukuy [North Beach Social]

The Allapattah-based cumbia collective burst forth in 2023, into the world with rocking house parties, then club nights, and now on to national tours and festivals. The sound of cumbia fuels the engine, contributing to the resurgence of the beloved Latin American folk music for fresh audiences. Through their music and activism, the group (made up of veterans of Miami's popular Latin-funk-rock groups) honors the roots of cumbia, celebrates the pan-Latin culture of our city, and incorporates a cosmopolitan sense that draws in new fans. The North Beach Social, Third Thursdays at the Bandshell, is the Rhythm Foundation's free monthly meet-up for our music-loving community.

Where do we park? arrow down

The municipal parking lot at 73rd Street and Collins Avenue is across the street from the Bandshell. Please note it is no longer free - it is $2/hour! When it is full, look for street parking.

What if it rains? arrow down

The venue is an open air facility, covered by our new canopy. Shows are scheduled rain or shine.

Can we bring a picnic? arrow down

No outside food or drink inside the Bandshell, please. We have a fully-stocked bar, and we usually feature wonderful food vendors inside the venue. We also have a water refill station.
