An Opera Reggae Concert! Florida Grand Opera teams up with the Rhythm Foundation and the City of Miami Beach to present 'Hit Me With Music', a family-friendly event at the Miami Beach Bandshell. Featuring musical selections from Beethoven to Bob Marley, this lighthearted exploration of common themes between the two genres and will include traditional reggae, opera, and a playful blend of the two styles. The Florida Grand Opera reminds us that, 'One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.' This Only-In-Miami experience is a special program of Florida Grand Opera, and will feature company members of the esteemed organization. FGO is the longest-running performing arts organization in Florida, and has been synonymous with world class opera in Miami for more than 80 years! Where do we park?
The municipal parking lot at 73rd Street and Collins Avenue is across the street from the Bandshell, and it is free (!) after 6pm. When it is full, look for street parking.
What if it rains?
The venue is an open air facility, covered by our new canopy. Shows are scheduled rain or shine.
Can we bring a picnic?
No outside food or drink inside the Bandshell, please. We have a fully-stocked bar, and we usually feature wonderful food vendors inside the venue. We also have a water refill station.
