Miami Beach Bandshell La Muchacha and Pascuala Ilabaca in Concert – Miami Beach Bandshell

La Muchacha and Pascuala Ilabaca in Concert

La Muchacha and Pascuala Ilabaca & Fauna in concert as a part of FUNDarte's Out (Loud) in the Tropics Series. La Muchacha, the one who is in search of her roots, has built a sound manifesto that connects with other voices and with other lives. Her project was born from an investigation of the musical roots of her people, recognizing their Latin American origins and strong roots in the singer-songwriter tradition. She explores the nuances of Colombian rhythms and the rich mix that is generated between popular, folkloric, and new-world music. Pascuala Ilabaca is a Chilean singer and songwriter, noted for her voice with accompaniment on accordion and piano. Her music is rooted in traditional sounds but effortlessly integrates shades of jazz, pop and rock, and influences gathered in such distant places as India or Mexico. Accompanied by her formidable band Fauna, her unique stage presence conjures up sweetness and empowerment at the same time, setting her songs alive with both fragility and verve.
