Gilmar Gomes: North Beach Social

A Brazilian-inspired festa, to bring Miami Beach into Carnaval season! Gilmar Gomes, the Brazilian percussionist and multi-instrumentalist best known for his decades-long work with Enrique Iglesias, will be joined by his 7-piece band and special guests for an evening of electic jazz-world music vibes. Gilmar is celebrating the release of his new album with this concert. The band features Gilmar Gomes (vocals, percussion, guitar), Magela Herrera (flute, vocals), Han Beyli (bass), Richard Maheux (keyboards), Israel Morales (drums), Weldon Silva (percussion), Yasmane Santos (percussion). Special guests include the YMU Jazz Collective, Munir Hossn (bass), and Joe Messa (bass, vocals). The monthly North Beach Social, a meet up for music loving neighbors, will also feature food, drinks and vendors for a Brazilian flavor. The night opens with a set from the YMU Jazz Collective.

Where do we park? arrow down

The municipal parking lot at 73rd Street and Collins Avenue is across the street from the Bandshell. Please note it is no longer free - it is $2/hour! When it is full, look for street parking.

What if it rains? arrow down

The venue is an open air facility, covered by our new canopy. Shows are scheduled rain or shine.

Can we bring a picnic? arrow down

No outside food or drink inside the Bandshell, please. We have a fully-stocked bar, and we usually feature wonderful food vendors inside the venue. We also have a water refill station.
