Born in Cuba, raised in Miami before decamping for Paris, Liset Alea is best known as lead singer of Nouvelle Vague for 8 years. The culture-hopping cosmolatina has recently returned to Miami. An emotion-driven vocalist exploring songs in French, English and Spanish, she and her trio will share new songs and old faves that reflect her globetrotting influences, from Françoise Hardy-vibe French pop to bossa-chic to eclectic tunes all her own. At 7PM, before the show, enjoy a screening of the documentary film BIRTHRIGHT, which follows Miami-bred electro-pop musicians, Afrobeta, as they are invited to perform in Havana, Cuba. We will also be joined by the United Way Young Leaders.

Where do we park?
The municipal parking lot at 73rd Street and Collins Avenue is across the street from the Bandshell, and it is free (!) after 6pm. When it is full, look for street parking.
What if it rains?
The venue is an open air facility, covered by our new canopy. Shows are scheduled rain or shine.
Can we bring a picnic?
No outside food or drink inside the Bandshell, please. We have a fully-stocked bar, and we usually feature wonderful food vendors inside the venue. We also have a water refill station.
