Co-presented by Deuterman Productions & GMP Live, on June 15th the Bandshell will host an epic double-bill with jam-funk favorite Lettuce and roots reggae legends Steel Pulse. The bands will be joined by special guest Makua Rothman as they kick off their joint Summer Tour in Miami. Utilizing hip-hop, jazz, New Orleans R&B, blues, and rock in their gumbo, Lettuce is a New York-based collective who update the sound of classic '70s funk. The band’s current lineup includes Adam Deitch (drums), Ryan Zoidis (saxophone), Adam Smirnoff (guitar), Erick Coomes (bass), Nigel Hall (keyboards/vocals), and Eric ‘Benny’ Bloom (trumpet). Lettuce has recently released their 8th studio album, Unify, a totally collaborative effort full of the highest of highlights, including its centerpiece track “Keep That Funk Alive,” inspired by the venerable Parliament-Funkadelic bassist, Bootsy Collins, and featuring Collins on bass and vocals. Formed in 1975, Steel Pulse are one of Britain's greatest reggae bands. Generally a politically minded Rastafarian outfit, Steel Pulse started out playing authentic roots reggae with touches of jazz and Latin music, and earned a substantial audience among U.K. punks as well as reggae loyalists. The band has evolved since its early days, and most recently released its 12th studio album in 2019, Mass Manipulation, a reminder of Steel Pulse's commitment to roots reggae and bold lyrical statements. Steel Pulse continues to be revolutionary in engaging controversial topics of racial injustice and human rights on a global scale.

Where do we park?
The municipal parking lot at 73rd Street and Collins Avenue is across the street from the Bandshell, and it is free (!) after 6pm. When it is full, look for street parking.
What if it rains?
The venue is an open air facility, covered by our new canopy. Shows are scheduled rain or shine.
Can we bring a picnic?
No outside food or drink inside the Bandshell, please. We have a fully-stocked bar, and we usually feature wonderful food vendors inside the venue. We also have a water refill station.
