The 27th Inffinito Brazilian Film Festival presents a screening of the film “AmarElo – It’s all for Yesterday” by Brazilian rapper, writer, and contemporary thinker Emicida, followed by a live performance. The film weaves together Brazilian culture, history, and the making of his studio album AmarElo, through the lens of the album’s debut performance at Theatro Municipal de São Paulo.
In 2019, Emicida released the AmarElo studio project, which won the Latin Grammy in the category Best Rock Album, called Alternative Music in Portuguese, and elevated the artist to the pantheon of Brazilian music. Using rap as a guiding thread, Emicida has combined classic and modern in an incursion that he dares to call neo-samba, also responsible for elevating him to the same level as the great masters.
